I"ve heard anecdotally that mold will glow green under a black light (UV light). Is this true?

There"s a room in my residence with a musty odor, and also I"m trying to determine the resource of the smell. There"s an extensive amount of unpainted timber - here is a sample of what it looks like under an ultraviolet light:

(Picture specs: 1s f/4.5 expocertain under 2 48" 36W T8 UV lamps.)

Does this suggest mold development in the wood? (Freshly reduced hardwood exposed to the exact same UV light does not reflect the exact same green-yellow shade.) I have tried cleaning the surchallenge of the wood with mold/mildew cleaner, to no impact. My expertise of mold expansion is limited and also I"m having actually a tough time coming up via reliable indevelopment about it.

What"s the humidity level in the room? I"d go get a $12 humidity sensor and check out what you got. My knowledge that mold can grow >= 60% RH, though tbelow are other determinants (e.g. moisture will condense on a cold wall through a lower relative humidity). You might need a dehumidifier if you"re too high. Of course that will not kill the mold yet will certainly save it from thriving.

It can just be glue, if the door is stained, the stain would highlight the yellow of the glue.
