You are watching: Why is my xbox 360 in black and white
My son has had his Insignia TV since Christmas and his xbox has played fine up until yesterday. His xbox is connected with the 3 cables (red, white, & yellow). Now his xbox starts up and stays on black and white. I tested it on another TV in the house and it plays fine (color). Is there a setting on the TVI need to check/change? What could have happened from one day to the next? Please advise.
you tvs inputs are proably messed up becuse the xbox has no black and white setting so i would try a difrant port, try an hdmi cable or try a componet cable if it works then you need that port repard
Some of the TVs have shared Component/AV ports, if the TV was set to component it would be looking for 2 extra video cables (and that would cause black and white). If it"s a fairly new TV it will have a Video button on the remote you can cycle through, otherwise go to Input and make sure it"s on AV.If you give us a model for the TV we can tell for sure what options there are.
Hello takintime3,Welcome to Community
Insignia™!This problem most often is a result of improperly connected cables. The ports on the side of the TV are shared component and composite ports. Ensure that your cables are connected properly and firmly seated, with the yellow video cable plugged into the port labeled Y/VIDEO. If the problem persists, try using a new composite cable or upgrading to component or HDMI. If the problem persists, try connecting a different composite device (e.g., DVD player) as a troubleshooting step. Please let us know your results.Regards,JohnInsignia™ Support
